Regulations of Home Inspectors |

KRS 198B.706 requires the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors to enforce provisions of the Kentucky Revised Statutes and to establish requirements for licensing and certification as well as prescribing forms and applications.
No person can advertise or claim to be a licensed home inspector or perform a home inspection for compensation without a license from the board. A license is required after June 30, 2006.

How to Become a Kentucky Licensed Home Inspector |

All applicants shall submit a properly completed application (MS Word - 429KB). No person can advertise or claim to be a licensed home inspector or perform a home inspection for compensation after June 30, 2006, unless they have been issued a Kentucky Home Inspector License by the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors. Conducting business as a home inspector in Kentucky without a license is a criminal offense after June 30, 2006.
All home inspector licensing applicants shall submit a properly completed application (MS Word - 429KB) a $250 nonrefundable licensing fee, complete and pass a board-approved prelicensing course and pass a board-approved national examination.

Meeting Continuing Education Requirements |

Continuing education requirements shall apply to those who have been licensed at least 12 months prior to license renewal.
