Division of Fire Prevention
Mission:
- Achieve a safe environment through development and education.
- Investigate fire incidents and assist in apprehension of those responsible for criminal burnings.
- Enforce fire prevention and fire safety regulations.
- Conduct life safety surveys in all health care, educational, places of assembly, government buildings and special occupancies as warranted.
- Regulate explosives, fireworks, flammable and combustible liquids and gases.
- Perform plan reviews for flammable and combustible liquids and gases; license all fire alarm signaling systems and fire suppressions systems, vendors and contractors.
- Serve as major incident response team for all fire fatalities including incidents involving manufactured housing and the state park system.
